Development Log 0.8.6B

April 2025 Update
by CrypticTM

  • Cleaned up a few rough edges in the main menu that could be noticed during longer sessions.

  • Smoothed out transitions and fixed small inconsistencies that could cause minor stuttering or odd behavior.

  • Overall just made it a little sharper and more stable for a better start to your suffering.

  • Some enemies were reworked for better stability and progression scaling.

  • Adjusted enemy skills and stats to feel more natural — no more random spike-damage from nowhere (unless I wanted it to be that way, of course).

  • Enemies now have additional skills to make fights a little more dynamic and unpredictable, but still fair...ish.

  • Added more items scattered throughout the world.
  • Introduced extra RNG elements — you might find different loot each run, depending on how much you're exploring.
  • There's some weird stuff hidden out there now... good luck figuring out what’s useful and what’s just cursed.

I'm really excited to see everyone's playthroughs and runs once this version is out in the wild.
Watching how people tackle the challenges (or die horribly) is honestly one of the coolest parts of working on this project.
This isn't a one-and-done release... it will stay in "Under Development" as my last publish accidentally leaked the project file and was copied to someone's itch page... I have went ahead and placed more watermarks on my work and showcasing the updates in real time.
I'm planning to keep adding and expanding  this Dark Souls 4 project over the next few months, while also juggling my other RPG projects.
There’s a lot more dumb, cursed ideas I want to bring to life, and this is just the start!
